The Art of Simplifying in 3 Steps

In the hustle and bustle of our daily lives,

it’s easy to become entangled in a web of thoughts, doubts, and uncertainties.

🔑  The key to gaining clarity in life is to listen. Listen, not just with your ears, not just with your intellect… listen with your entire heart. Focus your attention on the quality of listening. Focus your attention on the space between each thought.
The trick is to get deep into your intuitive heart. Listen to what your intuitive heart tells you because the intuitive heart is connected to all that is. This isn’t your physical heart or your energetic heart. It’s the heart that resides behind those others.

“…Cultivate it by opening your spiritual heart and
quieting your mind until you feel your identity with your deeper Self.
That opening to the deeper Self.”
Ram Dass

When we understand that there is one individual consciousness we are each part of, much as we are one body with many cells, then we can act from our intuitive heart. When we act from awareness and connection, we take action with absolute clarity about what needs to happen next, and next, and next.

3 Simple Steps to Clarity

No. 1 Meditate

The first and frankly one of the simplest ways to find clarity in life is the most talked about, and often the most overlooked. Meditation can be the gentle breeze that sweeps away the fog of confusion in your mind, allowing the brilliant light of clarity to shine through. In the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, it’s easy to become entangled in a web of thoughts, doubts, and uncertainties. Having a regular meditative practice invites you to take a serene pause, sit, stand, or walk embracing the present moment. By setting aside time to notice and allow, you’ll discover that clarity isn’t something you need to chase or strive for; it’s already within you, waiting patiently to be unveiled. As you immerse yourself in your meditation, you’ll find that the weight of expectations and the burden of how things “should be” begins to dissolve, leaving behind a sense of profound peace and understanding.

When life’s path seems obscured by shadows, meditation serves as a gentle guide and clearing, helping you navigate through the uncertainty with a heart full of compassion. It whispers to you that it’s okay not to have all the answers right now and that the journey toward clarity is a patient and nurturing one. Whether you’re feeling muddled in the chaos of daily life or standing at a crossroads of a big decision, this practice can be a sanctuary of solace. Reminding you how to embrace the present moment.

Allow the past to gracefully fade and the future to unfold naturally as you embark on a meditative journey, whether for 5 minutes or for longer. The length of time is far less important than allowing yourself to fully focus, clear your mind of active thoughts, and notice what new awareness bubbles up when you are mentally quiet and actively listening in.

No. 2 Focus

Finding clarity in life often begins with honing in on our most immediate goal. It’s like zooming in on a specific star in the vast night sky; suddenly, everything else fades into the background, and that one guiding light becomes our beacon of hope. When we take this approach, we grant ourselves the gift of simplicity amidst life’s complexities. By focusing on that immediate goal, we embrace a sense of purpose that not only illuminates our path but also infuses our journey with enthusiasm and determination.

Nurturing this kind of clarity is an act of self-compassion. It’s a gentle reminder that we don’t have to have our entire lives figured out all at once. Instead, we can take one step at a time, savouring each moment of progress along the way. It’s like tending to a delicate flower, nurturing it with patience and love. So, let your immediate goal be your compass, guiding you through the maze of uncertainties, and trust that the clarity you seek will blossom beautifully, enriching your life with meaning and fulfilment.

No. 3 Physical Action

The only way to create measurable change is to take physical action. That can be everything from making an appointment, sending an email or text, or calendaring a meeting or task. Thinking and planning are NOT actions. They can stall action steps and will keep you from accomplishing what you set out to do.

Rather than think or plan, list the first 3 physical actions you can take this week in order to move closer to your goal. Think small, doable steps. They have to be physical actions.

It’s not gonna happen if you write things like:

  • “Plan out the steps to…”
  • “Think about what I need to do next”
  • “Remind myself to do, A, B,C…”
  • “Tell myself I need to…”

Stay away from anything that is not an actual, physical action you are taking. Now is the time to move, not the time to sit and ponder. Stuck for ideas?

Some examples of actions that will get you going:

  • Make a call to…
  • Contact so-and-so
  • Email……. and ask for information about…
  • Review the online catalogue of classes at…
  • Online search for this information and then contact …..
  • Make a date to have lunch with … who can tell me more about…..
  • Find 3 people who are already doing what I do and talk to them. (This is especially great to do if you track down people who are in a different city, and who will see you as a colleague instead of competition).

I think you get the picture- what you are doing is getting out of your head and onto your feet. (Or at least onto your phone or laptop to talk with actual people, find actual programs and start yourself on the road to creating the life, happiness, and success you most desire.

Wrapping up your transformation.

Gaining clarity in life is a profound journey that begins with the art of listening. It’s not just about hearing words or processing information intellectually; it’s about engaging with your whole being. To truly grasp the essence of what someone is saying or to understand the subtle whispers of your own intuition, you must listen with your entire heart. In this world filled with noise and distractions, cultivating the skill of focused, heart-centred listening becomes increasingly essential. When you consciously tune in and direct your attention to the space between each thought, you create a mental stillness that allows the profound wisdom within you and the world around you to surface.

The path to clarity also leads us to the intuitive heart, a mysterious yet deeply connected aspect of our consciousness. This intuitive heart transcends the physical and energetic realms, residing behind the layers of our existence. When you listen to your intuitive heart, you are tapping into a source of wisdom that is in tune with the vast universe. It is the compass that guides you towards your true purpose, helping you navigate the complexities of life with grace and authenticity. By acknowledging the existence of this intuitive heart and learning to trust it, you can embark on a transformative journey that leads to clarity, insight, and a deeper understanding of yourself and the world around you.
